INNER BEAUTY

On October 17, 1998 Irvan Nursick and Viola Santi formed INNERBEAUTY in Jakarta Indonesia. In the beginning they played Power Doom Metal. It sounded like 'Nightwish, Halloween, and Rhapsody. In first formation they used additional musicians, but it couldn't exist for long time until they founded fit line up. In that moment Innerbeauty were vacuumed for one year.

On November 23, 2000 INNERBEAUTY got a drummer named Trisapto but after he signed in to the band, sooner he left the band. Andyan Gorust took it position immediately while INNERBEAUTY recruited a bass player named Tommy.

On September 13, 2002 with that line up, their first album entitled “Peace Through Understanding” was released by 'Extreme Noise Records Indonesia with indie label cassette format.they sent that record to labels outside Indonesia, then the record was re-released by 'Japanese record label named called Bloodbath Records in CD format eith the new title “The Unity of God”. It was distributed not in Japan only, but in America and Europe. Bloodbath Records has introduced this band to International scene.To fulfill another demand in Indonesia “Peace Through Understanding” was re-released in Indonesia by Bizarre Sounds Production with new title “Let's be Conscience be Your Guide”.After those all 'Andyan Gorust signed off from the band and INNERBEAUTY recruited some musicians they are new drummer named 'Bima Satria, second guitarist named 'Sigit (Oghe SP) and a keyboard/piano player named 'Irfan ‘Crode' Nurfajari. With this brand new line up INNERBEAUTY changes their music concept to Modern Gothic Metal. 'INNERBEAUTY has released a new album called 'For Our Souls' on Cassettes & CDs Format With Good Quality Sounds.so..

ASPHYXIATE

Asphyxiate was born to this hell pit in July 1998. Hailing from Bekasi, Indonesia, it was started by the initial formation of Josh (guitar), Dhana (bass/vocals) and Reno (drums). In November 1998, Indra joined the horde handling bass so Dhana could concentrate on his vocals. With this formation, Asphyxiate played a few original songs and some covers from Death Metal gods such as Suffocation, Deeds of Flesh (old), Cryptopsy (old), Prophecy, Beheaded, etc. In the mid 1999, Deaddy joined to handle guitars. Sadly, Dhana got an accident and passed away to join the Satan legion. Therefore, we decided to search for a substitute, and soon, we were introduced to Heru (ex-Hypoxia) who helped with additional vocals. Early August 2002, Heru was forced to leave the band due to his uncompromised personal life. However, we were grateful to have him and we really appreciate his contribution. Temporarily, Josh took over the vocals for our debut "The Process of Mutilation", released by Undying Music (Indonesia), which was then re-released by Despise the Sun Records (Italy). To add, Asphyxiate also appeared on some local and international compilation albums. End of 2003, we agreed on having just one guitarist and Deaddy, instead, took over the vocals for Asphyxiate as we believed, and still believe that his monstrous vocals really suits this band. Another accident struck us again in early 2005, which forced some formation changes again, with the entry of Atenx (drums) and Eric (bass). Unfortunately, this didn't last, and as a result, we were glad to have Reno and Indra back to join us in our journey to endless mutilation. In September 2007, again, Indra left and fortunately, Adi came in. Consisting of this bunch of mother fuckers, we did lots of shows and tours with both local and international Death Metal sickos. Now we are done with writing our new materials for our upcoming new album, which are just left with recording planned to be released in early 2009. early 2009 we has signs with two International Label: Despise The Sun Records (italy) and Sevared Records (usa), this co-production would be great step for Asphyxiate, the album title, artwork, and release date will be announced soon.

ABSOLUTE DEFIANCE

ABSOLUTE DEFIANCE was formed in February 1998 in Jakarta, Indonesia under the name of Vile by Bimo (bass), along with Ade (guitar), Anto (drums) and Dedi (vocals). After playing one gig, Dedi left the band and got replaced by Sapto (ex-Sadistis). At that time they used to cover some of their favorite songs from bands like Deeds of Flesh, Dying Fetus and Cryptopsy. Later, after some internal problems a new inception was began when Ghebes (drums) and Edwin (bass) joined the band. Bimo switched his instrument to guitar from that on. They composed and intensively rehearsed several songs and got signed for a tape release with Dementia Records (Jakarta), which they recorded in September 1999. The music was brutal death metal and the lyrics deals with social phenomena such as people suffering under the military atrocities, genocides, massacres and tyranny. The great feedback of the tape took the band to the next level within the local and even international underground scene. Finally, they found a new vocalist named Fahmi (ex-bassist of Impious from Indonesia) in late January 2000. With this line-up, Vile performed numerous gigs. They also featured on numerous compilations and got interviewed by a lot of fanzine and webzines. After a year full of musical activities, Ghebes (drums) decided to retire in early 2001, he got replaced by Andyan (Siksakubur). In August 2001, Fahmi got replaced by Nino (Trauma). With this new line-up, Vile recorded ten tracks (it consists of 7 old tracks and 3 new tracks) for another local tape label named Edelweiss Productions. The tape got released under the name of "Systematic Terror Decimation" and showed a lot of progression towards brutality and intelligent song writing. Socio-political and critical lyrics are supported by brutal US influenced death metal, much in the vein of Dying Fetus, Fleshgrind and Skinless. This came under the attention of From Beyond Productions (sublabel of Dutch's Displeased Records), which licensed the recordings from Edelweiss to be released on CD along with 3 bonus tracks. Due to the American band Vile, the band was forced to change their name. The new name, Absolute Defiance, is a lot more meaningful and representative to match their lyrical and musical concept. But unfortunately, the band took its recession since the release of their debut CD in mid 2002. Nino and Andyan got to go back to their respective main bands. Edwin was no longer have time for the band due to his occupation. And so the band became non-active for a quite long time. Finally, after more than a year of hiatus, Bimo (guitar) decided to reactivate the band along with new members: Aditya (drums), Dimas (bass), Piping (guitar) and Unbound (vocals) in mid 2003. With this fresh line-up, the band has changed its musical concept, from brutal US influenced death metal to melodic Scandinavian influenced death metal, much in the vein of In Flames, Dismember and At the Gates but heavier! The band experienced a very often line-up changes in 2004, and the result was a stagnant activities during 2005. In early 2006, Bimo rebuilt and returning the musical direction into what it was, brutal death metal! Fuck the overwhelming Scandinavian stolen riffing metal-core rip offs! Absolute Defiance is absolute death metal! The band have actually awaken from their sleep. The wheels are finally rolling again, coz the brainchild of the band is actually never sleep... Be prepared for the resurrection of East Brutality!

TRAUMA

Formed on August 18, 1992 in Jakarta, the nation's capital; TRAUMA has been proving themselves as one of the oldest Indonesian death metal leaders that still exists today. TRAUMA is recognized as a leading example of deep visualization of songwriting, wicked playing skill and a ground-breaking arrangement to death.

In 1997, TRAUMA's first demo “Incomplete Damnation” been released. Next in 1998, TRAUMA released a full length album “Extinction of Mankind” through a local indie label; MORBID NOISE RECORDS. One year later, this album then has been licensed exclusively by PSYCHIC SCREAM ENTERTAINMENT [a supported Malaysian label from PONY CANYON] that intended for market in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Furthermore in 2000, a Chicago, US' label; OWL RECORDS licensed this album for wider markets as well.

In the same year, PSYCHIC SCREAM ENTERTAINMENT released a split album of TRAUMA and UNVEILED [Malaysia] for worldwide market. In 2002, a local label; EXTREME SOUL PRODUCTION released a split album for TRAUMA and AGATHOCLES [a legendary Belgian mince core band] titled “Death Metal vs. Mince Core”. In the same year also, a Netherlands' label; MANGLED STEW RECORDS merging TRAUMA along with their local band; TUMOUR, in a split album titled “Death Metal vs. Gore Grind”. Subsequently, this Holland-based label then had released 4 ways split album that includes 4 bands: TRAUMA [Indonesia], PLANKTON, SANGUINARY and INTUMESCENE [the rests are from Netherlands].

This far, TRAUMA has been involved in more than 50 album compilation titles that have been released by labels in Indonesia and overseas, such as: France, US, Australia, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Thailand, Mexico and many others. There's one of the biggest Indonesian underground compilation titled “Metalik Klinik”. TRAUMA appeared on Vol. 1 in 1997 and Vol.5 in 2003. This Rotorcorp/MUSICA's production is has been sold over than 100.000 albums.

Afterward, TRAUMA also had tagged along in a compilation titled “Panggilan Pulau Puaka” [Vol. II and III] under PSYCHIC SCREAM ENTERTAINMENT. It is said that this album was a most recognized in Malaysia in 2000-2001. PONY CANYON also involved TRAUMA in a compilation CD titled “METAL KLASIK Malaysia vs. Indonesia”.

Several TRAUMA's songs have been number 1 in some rock chart in local I-Radio that put TRAUMA's song; “Pelangi Hitam” [June, 2002] on the top. This position even hung on for 5 weeks. TRAUMA showed up on interview pages as well, such as fanzine, underground magazine around Indonesia and overseas even on more mainstream press.

TRAUMA's albums had given big positive responses from heaps of label/magazine in overseas, for instance: RELEAPSE [USA], BRUTALIZED [USA] even Max Cavalera [SEPULTURA/SOULFLY] also commented TRAUMA's songs in e-mail. TRAUMA always perform their best and try to be themselves without being a ‘follower' or ‘fake' from other great death metal bands in overseas that had given TRAUMA such great influences.

Finally on March 26, 2003, TRAUMA released their second full length album under KROSSOVER Records/MUSICA; titled “Paradigma: Demi Hidup Tak Perlu Harus Mati” with 11 songs in total. This album had been sold more than 10.000 units in the first 2 weeks. Video clip from this album, “Api dalam Otak” also often appeared on MTV Indonesia in 2003.

Next 4 months after, an indie label EDELWEISS Production released TRAUMA's autobiography book called “Dimensi Paradigma”. It was written by Nino Aspiranta, TRAUMA's vocalist, about the whole journey of TRAUMA from 1992 until 2003 completely.

Based on heaps of request, on December 2004, right after 6 years since “Extinction of Mankind” that had been released in 1998; VARIANT MUSIC INDONESIA [VMI] with distribution support from ALFA RECORDS decided to re-release this album, including 1 bonus unreleased track. With the brand new cover and look, TRAUMA's anthem ”Human Suffering” had a video clip done as well. Then this would be the third video clip after ”Penjara Dendam” [METALIK KLINIK II – 2002] and ”Api dalam Otak” [Paradigma, Demi Hidup Tak Perlu Harus Mati – 2003].

Lastly, with the newest line-up in 2007: growl X scream: Nino Aspiranta [Nino], lead X rhythm guitar: Heilla Tanissan [Hella], bass: Rusdi Hamied [Rusdi] and drums: Ramadhansyah HS [Cokie]. TRAUMA now is having their third full length album released: DOMINASI KEMENANGAN out in November 2008 by ROXANA777 Records and distributed by RnB. This long-awaited album is now available in all of Indonesia's music stores. Get it now!!!
